Moodie, Wolters Win Weekly Diving Awards

In a week where only two America East conference schools competed, Boston University’s Griffin Moodie (Edina, Minn./Edina) and Maine’s Megan Wolters (Cleveland, Mississippi/LSU/Cleveland) were named the Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week, respectively. No divers were awarded honors this week. The awards were announced Tuesday (December 14).

The junior Wolters won three individual events in a 193-107 dual meet win over Boston University. Wolters picked up first-place finishes in the 200 free (1:55.55), 200 back (2:08.58), which was 12 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, and the 200 IM (2:14.75). She was also a member of the first-place 200-medley relay.

Moodie, a sophomore at Boston University, led the Terriers come-from-behind victory over Maine on Saturday, winning three of Boston U.’s nine consecutive events. He picked up first-place finishes in the 100 breast (101.59), 100 fly (53.81) and the 200 IM (2:03.36). After the first four events, Boston U. trailed 52-18, however they won nine of the final 12 events to come away with a 165-132 win.
