Albany’s Tina Bryson (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) has been named America East Player of the Week for field hockey, while Boston University’s Sarah Shute (Lincolnville, Maine/Somers) has been named Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday (October 4).
Bryson scored two goals, including the game-winner, in the Great Danes’ 3-2 America East Conference win over UMBC. She had a game-high five shots against UMBC. Bryson is second on the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points.
In the Boston University’s 5-4 loss to Princeton, Shute tied the game at 4-4 with less than seven minutes to play in regulation after knocking in a rebound in front of the Tiger’s cage. She was credited with three shots in the Terriers’ two games.
