Boston U.’s Kara Rossi (North Salem, N.Y./North Salem) and Pam Spuehler (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury) have been named America East Player and Rookie of the Week for field hockey, respectively. The awards were announced Monday (October 25).
Rossi led the Terriers to their biggest win in her four years at Boston U., scoring the game-winning goal and leading the team in shots (4) in a 2-0 America East victory over 10th-ranked Northeastern University on Sunday, October 24. The win earned the Terriers the No. 1 seed in the America East Field Hockey Championship and the right to host the tournament. In Boston U.’s 7-1 victory at America East foe Albany on Friday, Rossi contributed with a goal and an assist, giving her five points on the weekend.
Spuehler scored the Terriers’ second goal in a 2-0 win over America East rival Northeastern. She took four shots in the game. In the 7-1 win at Albany on Friday, she took two shots.
