Allen, Angel, and Truax Earn Cross Country Weekly Honors

New Hampshire’s Anthony Truax (Dover, N.H./Dover) and Vermont’s Brad Allen (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples Academy) have been named Co-America East Men’s Cross Country Performers of the Week, while Binghamton’s Erica Angell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Speckenkill) has been named the America East Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week. The awards were announced Tuesday (October 19).

Truax, a junior at UNH, took home first place at the Albany Invitational and led the men’s team to a second-place finish. He also set a new course record in the process, timing out in 24:46.

Allen, a junior at UVM, led Vermont to a victory at the Saint Michael’s Invitational, beating out Saint Michael’s and Lyndon State. He won the overall individual title and was the top Catamount runner for the fourth-straight race, posting a time of 24:56, his fastest mark of the season.

Angel, a junior at Binghamton, finished first out of 227 runners in the 5,000-meter race, clocking a time of 17:40. She becomes the first Binghamton women's runner in the 38-year history of the Albany Invitational to win the individual title. In addition, Angell was just four seconds off the course record of 17:36.
