Junior forward Kristen Kowalik of Northeastern was named America East Player of the Week. Hartford goalkeeper Liz Cook and Stony Brook midfielder Tiffany Fasullo share Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday (October 11).
Kowalik (Vikingstad, Sweden/Katedralskolan) scored three goals in the Huskies' two wins. She scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Maine Friday and then added a goal in a 2-1 win over New Hampshire Sunday. She now has nine goals and three assists for the Huskies, who sit atop the America East standings at 3-0-1.
Cook (Halifax, Nova Scotia/Halifax Grammar) posted two wins for the Hawks, including a nine-save effort in a 3-2 win over Stony Brook Sunday. Fasullo scored two goals 15 seconds apart in the 86th minute as the Seawolves rallied for a 2-1 win over Vermont Friday. She then added a goal in the 52nd minute and assisted on another in the 89th minute as Stony Brook's rally fell short in a 3-2 loss to Hartford Sunday.
