New Hampshire’s Katie White (Glens Falls N.Y./Glens Falls) and Northeastern’s Diana Nelson (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) have been named America East Co-Players of the Week, while Boston University’s Pam Spuehler (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln Sudbury) has been named Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday (October 11).

White scored four goals last weekend to lead the Wildcats to a split against a pair of Big 10 teams. She scored UNH's initial three goals of the game against Northwestern, including a pair 63 seconds apart in the second half that erased a 3-1 halftime deficit and propelled New Hampshire to a 4-3 victory. White also scored the team's only goal in a 2-1 loss to Indiana. Her tally had tied the game in the 44th minute.

Nelson recorded both shutouts in Northeastern’s victories over Harvard and Albany last week. In Wednesday’s 3-0 win over No. 17 Harvard, Nelson made a pair of saves. On Saturday in Northeastern’s 7-0 blanking of Albany, Nelson came up with five saves. Nelson, who now holds a 1.03 goals against average and a stellar .776 save-percentage, has been a huge part of the Huskies’ five shutouts this season.

Spuehler was right in the middle of the Terriers’ offensive attack in two games last week, scoring one goal in the team’s 3-2 conference win over No. 20 Maine on Oct. 9 and scored a goal and added an assist in the team’s tough 4-3 loss to No. 6 Connecticut on Oct. 10. Her goal against Connecticut tied the score at 1-1 midway through the first half, and her assist, 1:23 later, gave Boston U. a surprising 2-1 lead over the Huskies, a team which had only allowed six goals all year and had not yielded more than two goals to any team.
