Mollie Lehman, formerly Event Manager/Compliance Assistant at Binghamton University, has been named Assistant to the Commissioner with America East Conference, announced today by Chris Monasch, Commissioner of America East.
Lehman will assist in the conference’s seven officiating bureaus, oversee the newly-created officiating website, and handle other administrative duties for the conference office. She will work closely with the championships and compliance staffs, producing championship handbooks, coordinating data for the National Letter of Intent program, and providing assistance in the initial review of waiver applicants and special assistance fund applicants.
For nearly the past four years, Lehman has gained working knowledge of event planning and administrative procedures while at Binghamton. She has managed all home events for the past three years for the Bearcats and recently worked alongside the America East Conference staff in successfully organizing and directing Binghamton’s first conference championship game since becoming a member in 2001. Lehman, a 2000 graduate of Binghamton, was also a standout on the Bearcat softball team for four seasons.
"Mollie brings the ideal skill set for the position," said Monasch. "Her experience as both a student-athlete and a member of the athletics department at Binghamton University prepares her well for the role on our conference staff."
America East consists of 10 member institutions: University at Albany, Binghamton, Boston University, University of Hartford, University of Maine, UMBC, University of New Hampshire, Northeastern University, Stony Brook University and University of Vermont.
