Trudel, Lang, Werner Honored in Women's Lacrosse

Sophomore midfielder Alyssa Trudel (Shoreham, Vt./Middlebury Union) and junior defender Sasha Lang (Cornish, N.H./Kimball Union) of Boston University, and attack Danielle Werner (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) of Stony Brook were named America East Player, Defender and Rookie of the Week Monday (April 7).

Trudel scored four goals and added five assists in two Terrier wins last week. She had two goals, four assists, five draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers as the Terriers opened the America East schedule with a win over Binghamton Saturday. Trudel now leads America East in scoring with 21 goals and 16 assists for 37 points in nine games (4.11 per game).

Lang the Terrier defense, which allowed three goals in two wins last week. She had seven ground balls in the two games and caused two turnovers. She also scored three goals in the win over Binghamton.

Werner scored four goals and assisted on two others as the Seawolves won twice. She had two goals and an assist and also had five ground balls and six draw controls as Stony Brook won its first America East game, 13-9 over Albany Friday. Werner ranks second in America East scoring with 22 goals and 11 assists for 33 points in nine games (3.67 per game).
