Week Three Softball Honors Announced

Stony Brook University sophomore Stephanie DiBaise (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) is the America East Player of the Week. Boston University freshman Erin McDonald (Macon, Ill./Mt. Zion) is the America East Pitcher of the Week. Stony Brook's Hayley Durham (San Jose, Calif./San Lorenzo Valley) is the America East Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced by America East on April 7.

DiBiase continued her outstanding play this week, batting .520 in seven games. She finished the week with 13 hits, including two home runs and a double. Her slugging percentage was .800 and she had an on-base percentage of .556. In a split with Vermont on Monday, she was 5-for-7, including her fourth home run of the season, with an RBI and two runs scored. In a doubleheader sweep of Fairfield, she was again 5-for-7, including her fifth homer, with two RBI and four runs scored.

McDonald gave up only two earned runs in 16.2 innings pitched for the week for a 0.86 ERA and a 2-0 record. She combined with senior Tiffany Finateri to pitch a no-hitter at Central Connecticut State in an 11-0 win. McDonald gave up only five hits during the week, and pitched two complete-game wins. She allowed only two hits in a 3-0, complete game win over Providence.

Durham had eight hits on the week, including her second home run of the year. She batted .421 in seven games and also had four RBI. In a doubleheader sweep of Fairfield, Durham was 3-for-5, including the homer, with three RBI and a run scored.
