Rae, Cappadoro Honored in Men's Lacrosse

Sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Rae (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) of Albany is the America East Player of the Week while Attackman Jason Cappadoro (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) of Stony Brook is the America East Rookie of the Week. The awards announced Monday (April 28).

Rae led the Great Danes to an 8-6 win over Vermont Saturday. With the win, Albany secured the No. 2 seed in the America East Championship and earned the right to host a semifinal game. Rae had 14 saves vs. the Catamounts as the Great Danes grabbed a share of the conference regular-season title.

Cappadoro scored five goals and added two assists in two games. He had three goals and an assist as the Seawolves handed Hartford its first conference loss of the season, 6-5 Saturday. His goal with 2:01 left was the game winner. He also scored two goals and added an assist in a loss to No. 14 North Carolina Wednesday.
