Boston University won each of the three conference weekly awards as sophomore goalkeeper Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park) was named Player of the Week, junior defender Sasha Lang (Cornish, N.H./Kimball Union) was named Defensive Player of the Week and Mary Beth Miller (Berlin, N.J./Eastern) was named Rookie of the Week. All awards were announced Monday (April 21).
Sheridan made nine saves, including seven in the second half, in the 7-6 win over No. 11 Syracuse Sunday. Her save with less than a minute to play secured the win. Sheridan also had 10 saves in an 11-4 win over Connecticut Wednesday and collected the win in as the Terriers downed Stony Brook, 19-5 Friday.
Lang led a defense which allowed five goals per game in three contests. She caused three turnovers, had two ground balls and a draw control in the 7-6 win over No. 11 Syracuse. She added four caused turnovers and three ground balls in an 11-4 win over Connecticut Wednesday.
Miller scored nine goals and added five assists in three Terrier wins. She had four goals and four assists as the Terriers improved to 3-0 in America East with a 19-5 win at Stony Brook Friday. She had four goals and an assist in the 11-4 win over Connecticut Wednesday and added her team-leading 34th goal of the season in the 7-6 win over No. 11 Syracuse Sunday.
