Hartford Top Seed for Men's Lacrosse Championship

Hartford (4-1 in America East, 8-7 overall) has earned the No. 1 seed in the America East Men's Lacrosse Championship and will play host to No. 4 Vermont in a semifinal game Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. No. 2 Albany (4-1, 8-5) will play host to No. 3 Stony Brook (3-2, 5-9) in the other semifinal that same day at 3 p.m. The winners advance to the America East Championship, Saturday, May 3 at the home field of the higher remaining seed.

The winner of the America East Championship receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

Hartford defeated Albany, 10-5 on April 6 to win the conference's first tie breaker (head-to-head competition) to determine the No. 1 seed.

Last season No. 3 seed Stony Brook upset No. 2 seed Hartford, 7-6 in overtime in the semifinals and top seed Albany, 8-6 in the championship game to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
