Hartford's Travis Eckler (Endicott, N.Y./Herkimer Community College) and Garett Kikot (Toronto, Ontario/Birchmont Park) were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively Monday (April 14). The duo combined to lead the Hawks to two conference wins last week.
Eckler had five goals and three assists in a 13-7 win over Quinnipiac Sunday. He also had two goals and an assist in the 7-6 win at Vermont Wednesday. Eckler has 24 goals and 12 assists for 36 points in 11 games (3.27 per game) to lead America East in scoring.
Kikot, who won the top rookie honor for the second-straight week, had three goals, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter in the 7-6 win at Vermont Wednesday. He had two goals and an assist vs. Quinnipiac Sunday as the Hawks remained the only unbeaten team in conference play.
