Jessie Groszkowski (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) of New Hampshire and Courtney Hill (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette) of Albany are the America East Player and Rookie of the Week for women's lacrosse. Due to a light schedule, in part caused by postponements, there was no Defender of the Week. The awards were announced Tuesday (March 4).
Groszkowski, the 2002 America East Player of the Year, picked up this year where she left of last season. The midfielder scored nine goals in three games. She had five goals, four ground balls, and six draw controls in an 11-10 loss at California on February 23.
Hill scored three goals in her collegiate debut, a 17-8 loss to Ohio. The midfielder also registered a ground ball in that game.
