America East Announces Week One Softball Honors

Maine sophomore outfielder Jess Brady (Jackman, Maine/Forest Hills) is the America East Player of the Week. Albany junior Andrea Lindgren (La Habra, Calif./Sonora) is the America East Pitcher of the Week. Albany's Maegan Larsen (Carteret, N.J./Carteret is the America East Rookie of the Week. The honors were announced by America East on Tuesday, March 25.

Brady led the Black Bears to a 10-6 start. Brady leads the league in batting average, hitting at a .446 clip with 25 hits. She is tied for third in the league with 11 RBI. In just 16 games Brady has recorded 13 stolen bases, just five stolen bases shy of the Maine single season record of 18.

Lindgren has appeared in nine of the team's first 14 games and amassed a record of 5-2 with two saves. Her ERA of 1.04 is second on the team. Against Sacred Heart, she tossed her first career no-hitter while facing one batter over the minimum. She has struck out a team leading 36 batters.

Larsen leads the team in every major hitting category. She has a .386 average, 17 hits, nine runs, 10 RBI, four doubles, one triple, the team's lone home run and has been successful on four-out-of-five stolen base attempts. Last week at the UMBC Spring Classic, she was named MVP as she hit .385 with five hits in 13 at-bats including two game-winning hits.
