Women's Lacrosse Honors Announced

Senior midfielder Jessie Groszkowski (Reistertown, Md./Franklin) of New Hampshire, senior defender Beth Arikian (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) of Stony Brook and first-year defender Lauren Wetherell (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) of Binghamton are the America East Player, Defender and Rookie of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Monday (March 24).

Groszkowski scored five goals and added an assist as the Wildcats played at No. 9 North Carolina and at Richmond, which recently fell from the national rankings. She had a goal, registered seven ground balls, had two draw controls and caused a turnover vs. the Tar Heels and added four goals and an assist vs. the Spiders.

Arikian scooped up 15 ground balls and caused five turnovers in the Seawolves' three games. She leads America East with 5.40 ground balls per game.

Wetherell scored three goals and added an assist in her collegiate debut, a 15-9 loss at Siena.
