University of Maine (8-3) moved up to seventh (55 total points) from 15th in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Northeast Coaches Poll for March 18th, the Black Bears highest ranking to date. Stony Brook University (3-3) received one point and was among those also receiving votes. University of Richmond (13-2) maintained the top spot with all seven first place votes and 105 total points.
Teams point values are determined by each coach’s rankings, with 15 points for first place, and descending by one point for each place away from first.
The Eastern Coaches Poll consists of 76 teams in the Northeast and East Regions declared by the NCAA. These two regions consist of eight conferences (America East, Atlantic 10, Big East, Colonial, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Northeast and Patriot), and two independents.
