Albany junior attackman Michael Solazzo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and Stony Brook attackman Jason Cappadoro (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, on Monday (March 17).
Solazzo scored four goals and added an assist in the Great Danes' 16-12 win at Delaware. He scored three times in the pivotal third quarter, including back-to-back goals to give Albany a 12-6 lead. He ranks No. 5 in America East in scoring with seven goals and two assists for nine points.
Cappadoro registered a hat trick in the America East opener, a 9-4 win over Binghamton. He added a goal vs. No. 3 Maryland Saturday. Cappadoro leads the Seawolves and ranks No. 7 in the conference in scoring with seven goals and an assist.
