Vermont to Face Arizona in NCAA First Round

Vermont, a No. 16 seed, will play Arizona, a No. 1 seed, in an NCAA Men's Basketball Championship first round game Thursday (March 20) at 3:10 p.m. (ET) at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Catamounts (21-11) earned their first trip to the NCAA CHampionship with a 56-55 win over Boston University in the Choice Hotels International America East Men's Basketball Championship Saturday (March 15) at Case Gym in Boston.

Arizona (25-3), under veteran coach Lute Olsen, is making its 19th-straight trip to the NCAA Championship and its 21st overall. The Wildcats won the national title in 1997 and were the runners-up in 2001. Among their wins this season was an 85-71 victory over Boston University in Tucson on December 30 in the Fiesta Bowl Classic title game.
