Creatini Named ECAC Field Hockey Player of the Year, Finalist for Honda National Player of the Year

Northeastern junior Mari Creatini was named one of four finalists for the Honda National Field Hockey Player of the Year. She was also chosen ECAC Player of the Year on Tuesday (December 2).

Creatini, who led the nation in both goals (29) and points (72), was selected to the Honda National Player of the Year ballot along with winner Kelly Doton of Wake Forest, April Fronzoni of Michigan and Vanessa Immordino of Ohio State.

Creatini was joined on the All-ECAC team by senior back Leigh Shea. Together the duo led Northeastern to a No. 9 final ranking with a 17-6 overall record. The Huskies won the America East Championship for the third straight year and made their 13th appearance in the NCAA Championship. The season ended with a 2-0 loss to Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA Championship at Storrs, Conn.
