Northeastern’s Melissa Kowalski (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) and Alicia Learn (Watkins Glenn, N.Y./Watkins Glen) of Albany have been named America East Co-Player of the Week, while New Hampshire’s Danielle Clark (Corinna, Maine/Nokomis Regional) receives her first America East Rookie of the Week award.

Kowalski scored in double figures in each of the Huskies’ three games this week and became just the 10th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Against Providence, she scored 10 points, before tallying a team-high 18 points, including her 1000th, in NU’s upset of Harvard. Kowalski also buried two clutch threes in the final minutes to help lift the Huskies past the Crimson. She went on to score 14 points in NU’s win over Massachusetts at Matthews Arena.

Learn put together the best game of her collegiate career against Charleston Southern as she tallied 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven blocks and six assists. Learn led Albany to the victory, as she posted the first double-double of her career. Her seven blocks ties Albany’s single-game record set back in 1992.

Clark registered a season-high 13 points, five rebounds and three steals as UNH handed visiting Wisconsin-Milwaukee a 59-46 loss. Clark shot the ball extremely well as she was 4-of-6 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the line. With 4:02 remaining in the game, Clark converted on a conventional three-point play in the middle of a 12-1 UNH run that helped seal the deal for the Wildcats.
