Hartford’s Alon Lubezky (Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel/Yovel Herzlia) and Bryan Arnault (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) of Binghamton were named America East Player of the Week and America East Rookie of the Week respectively. The Week 9 men’s soccer awards were announced Monday, November 3, 2003.
Lubezky tallied nine points on the week as the Hawks tied Maine 3-3 (2 OT) and defeated Boston University 3-2 to clinch the number three seed in the America East Championship. Lubezky started off the week with two goals and one assist against the Black Bears and finished off the week with two more goals, including the game-winner, against the Terriers. The two goals against Boston University made Lubezky the all-time leading scorer in Hartford men’s soccer history with 52 career goals.
Arnault scored one goal and added one assist as he helped the Bearcats’ ensure a 2-0 win over New Hampshire. The win gave Binghamton a first round bye in the America East Championship and the number two seed. Arnault finished the regular season with 11 points overall on four goals and three assists.
