Cook, Feeley, Beauford Earn First Men's Basketball Honors

Sophomore Aaron Cook (Randallstown, Md./Lake Clifton) of Hartford and junior Andrew Feeley (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) of UMBC share the first America East Player of the Week honors while Stony Brook guard Mitchell Beauford (Dix Hills, N.Y./Christ the King) is the America East Rookie of the Week after averaging 11.5 ppg in two games last week.

Cook, a 6-1 guard, scored a career-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including 6-of-10 beyond the three-point arc, in a 74-55 win over Concordia (N.Y.) Friday.

Feeley was named the Most Valuable Player of the Battle of Baltimore after averaging 14.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg in wins over Loyola (Md.) and Towson. The 6-9 center made 7-of-9 shots en route to 19 points and 10 rebounds in the opening win over the Greyhounds.

Beauford scored 14 second-half points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor in the Seawolves’ comeback win over Dartmouth Friday night. He scored eight of Stony Brook’s final 10 points as the Seawolves rallied from 12 points down with five minutes to play. His steal and layup tied the game, 53-53, with a little over a minute left and his 22-footer with :02 left gave Stony Brook a 56-53 win. The 6-0 guard scored nine points Sunday in a 51-48 loss to Utah.
