Binghamton's Anne Crocus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) has been named America East Player of the Week, while freshman Brooke Truong (Van Nuys, Calif./Van Nuys) receives Rookie of the Week distinction. Northeastern's Kristin Ursillo (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) takes home her second straight Setter of the Week award for the Huskies.
Crocus tallied 45 kills with a .358 hitting percentage on the week for the Bearcats. Crocus notched a career-high 22 kills in a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Niagara and also tallied 16 blocks in the three matches. Binghamton went 2-1 on the week and has now won five of its last six matches. Crocus leads America East in hitting on the year with a .370 percentage.
Truong helped lead Maine to a 3-1 record on the week. Truong recorded 26 kills on just 53 total attacks for a .358 hitting percentage. She also recorded 20 digs on the week, which were third best on the team.
Ursillo wins Setter of the Week honors for the second straight week. Ursillo accumulated 112 assists in just two matches, both 3-1 wins for NU. Against St. Peter's she had 57 assists with four kills and four digs and followed that up with 55 assists, five kill and seven digs at Rutgers. Ursillo is tied with Binghamton's Ashley Heffert for assists per game with an 11.45 average on the season.
