America East Announces Basketball TV Schedule

America East Conference and MBC Teleproductions of Allentown, Pa. will produce and distribute basketball games for the fourth-straight season. The games are available to local-market stations and cable outlets. America East and MBC team for no fewer than 24 games, the most in conference history. In addition, ESPN will televise live the men’s championship game for the 16th-straight year.

America East will partner with New England Sports Network (NESN), New York City-based Metro, Madison Square Garden (MSG) and Fox Sports New York (FSNY), Empire Network in New York State, Comcast Sports Net in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, WLVI-TV (WB 56) in Boston, Adelphia Cable in Burlington, Vt., WNYT-TV (NBC 13) in Albany, N.Y., WBGH (NBC/ABC 34) in Binghamton, N.Y., WCTX-TV (UPN 59) in New Haven/Hartford, Conn., WVII-TV (ABC-7) and WFVX-TV in Bangor, Maine, and College Sports Television (CSTV) to cover America East markets in New York, New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.

America East member institutions include University at Albany, Binghamton University, Boston University, University of Hartford, University of Maine, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC); University of New Hampshire, Northeastern University, Stony Brook University and University of Vermont.

Included among the America East productions are the semifinals of the Choice Hotels International America East Men’s Basketball Championship on March 7, as well as the semifinals and championship game of the Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women’s Basketball Championship on March 12 and 13, respectively. ESPN will broadcast live the Choice Hotels International America East Men’s Basketball Championship on March 13 at 11:30 a.m.

The America East produced schedule, which includes 13 men’s games and 11 women’s contests, begins when Stony Brook plays at Maine in a men’s game on January 4 at 2 p.m. and continues through the conference championships in March. The schedule is subject to change.
