UMBC's Jocelyn Teoh (Puchong, Malaysia/Bujit Jalil Sports Academy) and Megan Gross (Mont Clair, Va./Forest Park) have been named America East Player of the Week and Setter of the Week respectively, while Albany's Ashley DeNeal (Muncie, Ind./Delta) takes home Rookie of the Week honors.
Teoh averaged 6.00 kills and 2.25 digs per game on the week as she led the Retrievers to a 2-1 mark. Against Binghamton, Teoh tallied 28 kills and eight digs before notching 19 kills on a .432 hitting percentage versus Hartford. She then recorded 25 kills and 15 digs against Stony Brook. Teoh also had 15 assists and nine total blocks on the week.
DeNeal recorded three double-doubles last week (kills-digs) for the Albany Great Danes, pushing her season total to 15. DeNeal averaged 4.40 kills and 5.00 digs per game on the week. Versus New Hampshire she had 17 kills and 18 digs before tallying 13 kills and 17 digs in a victory over Maine.
Gross averaged 12.42 assists per game as she paced UMBC to a 2-1 record on the week. Gross notched 59 assists in the Retrievers' 3-2 win over Binghamton before piling up 42 more assists in their win over Hartford. She also had 12 kills, 35 digs and six total blocks on the week.
