Northeastern's Mari Creatini (Newton, Mass./Newton North) has been named America East Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, while New Hampshire's Caitlin Gillen (New Preston, Conn./Shepaug Valley) receives Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this year.
Creatini had a hand in every goal for the Huskies this week as they went 2-0 with wins over 16th-ranked Harvard (2-1) and America East foe Vermont (2-0). Creatini scored the game winner and had an assist against Harvard, before assisting on both goals against Vermont for a five-point week. The award is Creatini's fourth of the season.
Gillen recorded three points on a goal and an assist as New Hampshire went 2-0 last week. She scored the game-winning goal in the team’s 4-0 victory at Dartmouth when she gave the ‘Cats a 1-0 lead at the 6:51 mark. She then registered an assist later in the game on the final goal of the contest. The award is Gillen's second of the season.
