Northeastern senior captain Fior Arrindell (Oakville, Conn./Watertown) and rookie Lauren Edelmeier (Delta British Columbia/South Delta Secondary) were named Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by America East on September 23.

Arrindell excelled against elite competition this week, scoring three goals in wins over 13th ranked Boston College (4-0) and Central Michigan (3-1) and coming up with a defensive save in a near upset of third-ranked and defending national champion Michigan in Ann Arbor. Arrindell scored twice against Boston College, rocketing two shots off penalty corners. She scored off a blast from 15 yards out against Central Michigan. Arrindell's defensive save against the Wolverines helped keep the Huskies upset bid alive, as Northeastern held a 1-0 lead until Michigan scored the equalizer with 20 seconds remaining in the game.

Edelmeier was crucial to Northeastern's success this week. With senior goalie Emily Roy out against cross-town rival Boston College, Edelmeier stepped up the defensive effort, helping sophomore Diana Nelson record a shutout in her first career start. The midfielder was also pivotal in keeping Michigan's high-powered offense off the scoreboard until 20 seconds were left in the game.
