Maine senior forward Tara Bedard (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) and Boston University forward Caitlyn Cassara (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex) were named Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively by America East on September 16.
Bedard scored two goals and added three assists in two 4-0 wins over the University of Rhode Island. Bedard had a hand in all four goals on Saturday (September 14) and added an assist on Sunday (September 15) to cap off a very productive weekend. She now leads the team in scoring with six goals and five assists for 17 points, and has scored at least a point in all but one game this season.
Cassara broke through with the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over American University of Friday (September 13) in the first round of the Terrapin Classic, hosted by the University of Maryland. It was her first career goal.
