Rookie center fielder/pitcher Julie Henneke (Philadelphia, Pa./Sickles) of Boston University, senior pitcher Margaret Yerdon (Lacona, N.Y./Sandy Creek) of Binghamton and Maine rookie pitcher Jenna Merchant (Sandy, Utah/Jordan) were named Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by America East on April 8.

Henneke was 3-for-4 with two home runs, including the game-winning home run in the top of the eighth inning, in a 3-2 win at Stony Brook Saturday. If that wasn't enough, she also pitched a perfect three innings and struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth to earn the win. In Sunday's 8-0 win over the Seawolves, she was 2-for-2 with an RBI and pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts. For the week, she was 9-for-15 at the plate (.600) with three doubles, three home runs and four RBI. In the circle, she pitched 12 innings, allowing just two hits with 21 strikeouts.

In a week in which several games were wiped out by weather, Yerdon made the most of her only start, throwing a complete-game four-hitter with five strikeouts while shutting out Albany on Sunday.

Merchant collected two wins (2-1, 5-2) as the Black Bears split a four-game series at Hartford. Merchant was 2-1 on the week with a 1.33 earned run average with 17 strikeouts in 21 innings of work.
