Rookie goalkeeper Kevin Rae (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and teammate and classmate Brendan Russell (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, on April 29.

Rae led the Great Danes to the No. 1 seed in the America East Championship. Rae made 11 of his season-high 19 saves in the first half in a 9-4 win at Hartford on Saturday in a battle of America East's last two unbeaten teams. Rae had a 7.27 goals against average in his final seven games as the Great Danes won six of those in that stretch. He has a .703 save percentage vs. conference opponents.

Russell scored a pair of third-quarter goals to help the Great Danes maintain their lead over Hartford in the battle for first place. The Hawks had closed to within 7-4 when Russell scored his second goal of the game with 6:24 left in the period. He also assisted on Chris Driscoll's goal with 14:18 left in the second quarter to put the Great Danes up 3-2, a lead they would not relinquish. Russell has 17 goals and nine assists for 26 points this season.
