Hergenroeder, Beltempo, Heller Earn Women's Lacrosse Honors

Player of the Week: Ericka Hergenroeder of Boston University (Sr., A, Annapolis, Md./Severna Park) earns this week's Player of the Week honors. The senior attacker scored a game-high three goals against 13th-ranked Yale. Hergenroeder also had three ground balls, a caused turnover and a draw control and had no turnovers. On the season, Hergenroeder ranks second on the team in goals (13), assists (6), points (19), draw controls (8), ground balls (10) and caused turnovers (9). Hergenroeder has registered at least two points in all but one game this season.

Rookie of the Week: University at Albany's Francine Beltempo (Fr., GK, Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) earns this week's Rookie of the Week honor after leading Albany to its first win of the season on Tuesday, Mar. 26. She made seven saves and allowed just three goals, as Albany defeated Siena 10-3. Beltempo made several point-blank saves in the second half of the Great Danes’ 15-13 loss to St. Bonaventure on March 29. She finished the contest with 17 saves, and totaled 24 for the week. Beltempo also had two ground balls in each of the games. She stopped 57.1 percent of the shots she faced last week. For the season she totals 89 saves and a .543 save percentage.

Defender of the Week: Amanda Heller of the University at Albany (Jr., M/D, Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) is this week's Defender of the Week. Heller, the team’s top defensive midfielder, scored a career-high three goals and added one assist to lead Albany to its first win of the season, a 10-3 decision over Siena on Tuesday, Mar. 26. Heller had a hand in four straight goals as Albany pulled away early in the second half. She caused five turnovers in the game. For the week, she had seven ground ball pickups and caused seven turnovers.
