America East Announced Week Five Women's Basketball Honorees

Junior guard Sarah Sweetland (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) of Albany and sophomore guard Kim Corbitt (Albany, N.Y./Colonie) of Maine share Wilson Player of the Week honors and first-year center Abby Schrader (Pt. Pleasant, N.J./Pt. Pleasant) of Maine is the Rookie of the Week it was announced by America East on December 23.

Sweetland scored a career-high 23 points, 14 in the second half, to help Albany record its first come from behind win in nearly a year with a 71-67 victory over St. Francis, N.Y. The triumph also put an end to an 11-game road losing streak dating back to last year. She shot 50 percent for the game and made eight of 10 free throws to lead all scorers.

Corbitt set season-highs for points, assists, and steals in Maine's 80-70 win at Bradley. She was one of four players scoring in double-figures with 14 points - her first double-figure scoring effort of the season. She also recorded seven assists and was involved in 13 of UMaine's 34 field goals in the game. She scored five points (two field goals plus a foul shot) in a span of 39 seconds during Maine's 22-4 run over the end of the first half and the start of the second; she went on to have a total of seven points during that stretch.

Schrader was one of four Black Bears to score in double-figures and lead UMaine to an 80- 70 win at Bradley. She finished with 14 points, two shy of her season-high, and had eight rebounds -including five offensive boards. She also connected on six of her nine field goal attempts, and had two blocks, two steals, and an assist - all despite playing just 23 minutes due to foul trouble. Her field goal with 4:08 remaining in the first half was the start of a 22-4 Black Bear over the end of the first half and the start of the second half. She also had UMaine's first field goal of the second half.
