Stony Brook junior guard D.J. Munir (Providence, R.I./Bishop Hendricken/Bridgton Academy) and Albany first-year guard Jamar Wilson (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows./Our Savior New American) were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, on December 23.

Munir scored a game-high 23 points in a 65-62 win over Hofstra Saturday (December 21). Munir, who missed the first seven games due to academics, scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half, including nine in the final 10 minutes as the Seawolves ended the game with a 20-5 run to snap a nine-game losing streak to the Pride.

Wilson scored 30 points and added 11 rebounds in the Great Danes' 69-67 win over Robert Morris Saturday (December 21). He had 20 of his 30 points in the decisive second half. With the Great Danes trailing 65-62 with under two minutes to play, Wilson converted a driving layup, then nailed a three-pointer with 51 seconds left for a 67-65 advantage.
