Hartford to Play Nebraska in NCAA First Round

Hartford will play Nebraska Friday at the Villanova Sports Complex in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. The game will be 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Villanova-Yale game, which begins at 11 a.m.

The winner of the Hartford-Nebraska game will meet the winner of the Villanova-Yale game Sunday at 1 p.m. at Villanova.

Hartford is making its sixth-straight NCAA Championship appearance and 12th overall. The Hawks advanced to the quarterfinal round in 1999 with wins at home over Princeton, at Florida and at Virginia before a loss at Penn State. Hartford needed just one win in 1992 (2-1, 2OT over Massachusetts) to reach the semifinals of the then 12-team tournament. The Hawks dropped a 1-0 decision to Duke in the semifinal game at Chapel Hill, N.C.
