America East champion Northeastern (17-4) will play Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA Field Hockey Championship Saturday (November 16) at 2 p.m. Harvard's Jordan Field in Allston, Mass. The winner of that game will meet the winner of the Harvard-Michigan State game Sunday at Jordan Field for the right to compete in the NCAA semifinals at Louisville November 22.
Northeastern and Connecticut squared off on November 5 when UConn won a 2-1 decision in overtime at Storrs.
Northeastern is making its second-straight NCAA Championship appearance and 12th overall. The Huskies advanced to the semifinals in 1996 before dropping a 2-1 decision to North Carolina at Chestnut Hill, Mass.
