University of New Hampshire took home two of three week six Baden honors as juniors Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif./Los Gatos) and Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Ramapo) garnered Player and Setter of the Week honors, respectively. Northeastern freshman Larissa Adomat received Rookie of the Week recognition on October 10.
Coler posted 36 kills, 24 digs and a .230 hitting percentage in two matches this past week, including 20 kills and 22 digs in the 3-1 win over Boston College. Coler averaged 5.14 kills per game and 3.43 digs per game in two matches vs. Boston College and Connecticut. On Wednesday night at Boston College, Coler recorded her 1,000th career kill to become the third Wildcat in school history to accomplish that feat. Coler currently leads the ‘Cats with 314 kills and a .244 hitting percentage on the season. Coler has recorded 20 or more kills in six matches this season and has posted double-digit kill totals in 17 of UNH’s 19 matches. Coler is on pace to break UNH’s single-season kill record which was set by former ‘Cat and America East Player of the Year Beth Cole in 1997 with 485 kills. Coler has amassed 314 kills on the year and averages 16.5 kills per match with 12 matches remaining in the regular-season schedule.
Adomat continued her outstanding play for the Huskies. On the week, Adomat averaged 4.38 kills per game while tallying a .449 hitting percentage. She also contributed defensively with 1.15 blocks per game. Versus Harvard, Adomat had 18 kills on 36 attacks with just three errors for a .417 hitting percentage and followed that up with 14 kills on 23 attacks and one error for a .565 percentage against Dartmouth.
Ludwig notched 93 assists, 25 digs, four service aces and five blocks vs. Boston College and UConn. Ludwig averaged 13.29 assists per game on the week, including a season-high 56 assists in the Boston College match. Ludwig has totaled 586 on the year and has added 58 kills, 118 digs, 40 blocks and a .228 hitting percentage which ranks second on the UNH roster.
