Northeastern boasts both weekly conference honors as sophomore Mari Creatini (Auburndale, Mass./Newton North) was named America East Player of the Week and Jay Quinn (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) was named Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced on October 7.

Creatini scored both game-winning goals for the Huskies last week in victories over Albany and Brown. Creatini had a goal and two assists in NU's 6-0 victory at Albany Oct. 4, then followed with a two-goal performance in a 3-0 victory over Brown Sunday, Oct. 6. Creatini had the Huskies off to quick starts in both contests, taking only three minutes and 30 seconds to get on the board against the Great Danes, then scoring the game winner against Brown only five minutes and 12 seconds into play. The Auburndale, Mass. native now has 20 points (seven goals, six assists) in 11 games this season.

Quinn scored the second goal of her career in the Huskies 6-0 road victory over Albany Friday, Oct. 4, then added her first career assist in NU's 3-0 shutout over visiting Brown Sunday, Oct. 6. Quinn gathered the ball on the Brown end line, eluded a defender and slid a pass across the goal mouth to Sarah Broderick, who knocked it in with two seconds left in the first half to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead.
