Jordan, Norris Earn Weekly Honors

Spalding Player of the Week: Stony Brook University sophomore forward Sherry Jordan (Stone Mountain, Ga./Clarkston) had two exceptional games this week as the Seawolves went 1-1. Jordan averaged 23.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in this week’s games, playing the entire 40 minutes in each game. In a loss to Vermont, Jordan scored a game-high 22 points on 10-of-23 shooting, her second-best effort from the field this season. She also collected seven rebounds and had two steals against the Catamounts. Jordan followed that up with her best offensive effort since a 30-point performance against Pennsylvania in the fifth game of the season. In a win over Hartford, Jordan led all scorers with 25 points and had 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Jordan also had a season-best 12-of-14 outing from the free throw line to lead Stony Brook to its fourth conference victory. Jordan leads the Seawolves with 17.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and three steals a game.

Spalding Rookie of the Week: Freshman forward Adrienne Norris of Boston University (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Terriers’ two wins over conference rivals Albany and Binghamton last week. Against the Great Danes, Norris scored 16 points with a team-high eight rebounds as the Terriers won their first game in overtime in three years. Norris scored 13 points, hitting 7-of-9 from the free throw line, while grabbing seven rebounds as the Terriers snapped Binghamton’s five-game winning streak. Norris is averaging 11.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in conference play this season. The 6-foot-1 forward leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.4 boards a game.
