Towson University sophomore forward Holly Noga (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Boston University first-year forward Melissa Shulman (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) were named Adidas America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively for the week ending September 3.
Noga earns the award after a record-setting performance in a 5-1 win at Mt. St. Mary's. Noga scored three goals and added an assist to tie two school records. Her three goals in a single game tied the mark shared by Courtney McClelland (1992), Christi Landi (1997) and Karen Coster (1997) and her seven points tied the Towson single game record set by Karen Coster against St. Francis in 1997.
Shulman made her presence felt in her collegiate debut. Shulman scored the game-winner off a direct kick in the 87th minute Friday as the defending America East Champions won their 15th-consecutive conference regular-season game with a 2-1 win at Stony Brook.
