Hofstra sophomore forward Elyse Bizzozzaro (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan HS) and Drexel forward Katie Kane (Franklinville, N.J./Delsea Regional) were named Adidas Player and Rookie of the Week for America East women's soccer it was announced September 10.
Bizzozzaro had three goals and one assist to help Hofstra to a 2-0 week. She scored Hofstra’s first two goals and assisted on the third in Pride’s 4-1 win over previously unbeaten Fordham on Saturday and also had a goal in the 3-0 win over Central Connecticut on Wednesday. Bizzozzaro, who tore her ACL in the opening minutes of her second career game as a freshman last season, has now scored in each of the last three games and leads the Pride with four goals and one assist for nine points.
Kane had a seven-point weekend as the Dragons defeated Canisius and Niagara in Northern New York. She had a pair of goals in the 4-0 win over Canisius and added a goal and an assist in the 4-3 win at Niagara.
