Delaware senior Juli Byrd (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) and New Hampshire goalie Christine Buckley (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) were named America East Field Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week on September 10.
Byrd scored the game's first two goals in a 5-1 victory over Rutgers. The two goals give Byrd three on the season, and 29 for her career, moving her close to UD's Top 10 in scoring. She now has 65 career points.
Buckley recorded her first career shutout-and second career win- in a 10-save effort at Harvard. She made eight of her career-high 10 saves in the second half. Buckley faced nine penalty corners, including seven in the second half. For the week, she recorded a perfect 0.00 GAA and a 1.000 save percentage (2.00 GAA and a .795 save percentage for the season).
