Boston University defeated Northeastern, 3-1, Saturday night to improve to 10-0-1 in America East. With the win, the Terriers earned the top seed in the America East Women's Soccer Championship.
The Terriers will host the America East Women's Soccer Championship semifinal and title games at Nickerson Field on the Boston University campus on Friday, November 9 (semifinals) and Sunday, November 11 (championship game).
The America East Women's Soccer Championship First Round begins Tuesday, November 6 with No. 3 Hofstra hosting No. 6 Towson at 1 p.m. and No. 4 Delaware playing host to No. 5 New Hampshire at 3 p.m.
Hartford (10-1-0 in America East) is the No. 2 seed, Hofstra (5-4-2) is the No. 3 seed, Delaware (5-5-1) is the No. 4 seed, New Hampshire (5-5-1) is the No. 5 seed and Towson (5-5-1) is the No. 6 seed. The Blue Hens, Wildcats and Tigers were tied in the standings and posted 1-1 records vs. the other two (in head-to-head tie-breaker). The next America East tie breaker is to compare the tied teams' record vs. the conference standings (in descending order). Each of the three tied teams lost to Boston University and Hartford. Delaware defeated Hofstra (third-place) to earn the No. 4 seed. New Hampshire then earned the No. 5 seed based upon its win over Towson (head-to-head tie breaker).
