Towson sophomore forward Holly Noga (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Boston University forward Melissa Shulman (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) were named Adidas America East Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 14.
Noga scored three goals in two wins last week. She had both Tiger goals in Towson’s 2-1 win over Stony Brook on Friday, including the game-winner with 17:27 remaining when she converted a penalty kick. She added a goal in Towson's 2-0 win vs. Albany on Sunday. Noga has 10 goals on the season, the third-highest single-season total in school history.
Shulman scored both goals in the Terriers’ 2-1 double-overtime win over Maine to keep Boston University atop the America East standings. With the Terriers trailing 1-0 with just 4:43 to play in regulation, she took a pass, went through traffic, and scored under the crossbar to tie the game. She then scored the game-winner just 28 seconds into the second overtime.
